Captain Hussein Abdulsatar is the Managing Director of As Salaam Air, bringing over 15 years of experience in aviation leadership, operations, and business growth. With expertise across all sectors of the aviation industry, he has played a key role in transforming the airline from a 13-seater operation into a rapidly growing aviation company operating 30-seater aircraft.
Under his leadership, As Salaam Air has achieved significant milestones, including becoming one of the few aviation companies to operate with both an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO). His strong focus on operational excellence, safety, customer service, and sustainable growth has helped position the airline as a trusted name in regional aviation.

Ravichandran Koothaperumal is the Finance Director of As Salaam Air with over 28 years of professional experience, including 16 years in the aviation industry. With expertise in finance, administration, operations, and general management, he has played a key role in strengthening the airline’s financial and operational structure. Known for his strong leadership in cost control and business management, he has contributed significantly to the company’s sustainable growth and efficiency. Holding an M.B.A qualification, Ravichandran is recognized for his strategic vision, disciplined leadership style, and commitment to operational excellence and organizational development.
Ibrahim Bukenya
(General Manager)
With 26 years of experience in aviation and business leadership, he brings extensive knowledge of airline operations, safety, customer service, and business growth. At As Salaam Air, he applies a practical, people-focused leadership style supported by strategic thinking and a strong commitment to operational excellence. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, strengthening his commercial and management expertise. His approach emphasizes teamwork, service quality, sustainable growth, and continuous improvement. He remains committed to innovation, responsible aviation practices, and delivering a reliable, efficient, and positive passenger experience for every traveller.
Ephantus Kuiyaki Gachuri
(Base Maintenance Manager)
Ephantus Kuiyaki Gachuri is an experienced aircraft maintenance engineer and aviation leader with nearly 20 years of industry experience. He currently serves as Base Maintenance Manager at As Salaam Air, overseeing maintenance quality, safety, staffing, aircraft release, and operational readiness. Previously, he held senior engineering and maintenance roles at AirTraffic Ltd and Aircraft Leasing Services. He holds diplomas in Management and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, along with Kenyan and Tanzanian AMEL qualifications. His leadership focuses on operational efficiency, engineer development, and consistently maintaining reliable aircraft operations across diverse fleets.
